A Day In The Year...

Finally, after months of de-blogging I'm back to this text box typing a post. The day in the life where I came back to blogging. The 'Day in life' thing happens with everyone I suppose. Everyone has a day in life when we have our favourite food, when we have our favourite past times, when we have a memorable trip, when we have something to learn for good, a day in life when we have the toughest lesson learnt, when we had the best times of life, when we start something afresh, when we leave our past behind, when we look forward with good hopes and lessons learnt from the past, when we did some good or bad, when we dedicate a day for something/someone etc.

When it comes to dedicating a day in the year we have several such days. Mother's day, Father's day, Valentine's day and not to forget the upcoming one Women's day. I just cant understand one thing. Why do we have these 'days'? Does having these days mean that we are supposed to express our feelings for people, thanking them for all that they have done for us on this very day and keep mum on the remaining days of the year? No, actually..

To write on a specific 'day' I would choose the upcoming one 'Women's day'. They talk about gender equality and we have reservations for women almost in all the sectors. Chivalry at its best I suppose. But why do they require reservations when everything is equally distributed amongst both the genders? I do accept the fact that in India the worst suffering minority are the girls. Mostly in villages. No doubt about it. If this day symbolizes the power of women then why not use it in practicality? If this day belongs to women, in every coming year, why cant they banish all those cruelties and illiteracy and all such other stuffs through which women suffer.

Rather than ranting those lines which say 'A woman can do everything' why not prove it. I do believe there are women who have achieved unparalleled heights and in future there would be many, but why do we stress on the point that women are strong enough to achieve anything? Yes, they are, but why the pride while saying this? They weren't weak but saying all these stuffs gives a feeling that they have been deprived of something. I see no actions and just words. If they are strong enough, why the reservations? I don't have problems with this 'Women's day' thing but all I want to say is here in India a lot of stress is given on providing women with the best facilities and still hardly there is any good use done. There are, yet, people, to be more precise, women,in certain areas deprived of education, their rights and everything. Why not have this Women's day develop a sense of care and concern to all those women who are living in the society without having their rights bestowed upon them, why not take action against all those stuffs that make women a hand-puppet in certain areas in India.

Providing facilities for women don't make them strong. Instead I salute women who never took any support to prove themselves. There are many as such in India. Women don't need a day in the year to remind people of their abilities, all they just need to do is stop ranting about it and start acting. I don't see any point in supporting women in everything they do because they are equally able and strong enough to do stuffs that others do,ain't it? I don't see women lagging behind in anything because they too have been provided the same stuff, same facilities etc. I believe, providing all these reservations and stuff give a sense of weakness, a feeling that women can do nothing unless and until they are provided with these stuffs.

Symbolizing the power of women, yes, that is the message that comes with this day. Come on,you weren't weak anyway to show your 'power' on this very day. They say, she plays a role of a mother, daughter, wife etc. what's the big deal? Even men play the roles of a son, father, husband etc. Give me one good reason to celebrate this day. Well, I don't have any problem with people celebrating this day. Not at all. But I wonder what the hell makes women different from men. I ain't begging for a 'Men's day'. They say women aren't different from men in any respect. Well,if that is so,stop ranting about your 'powers' and such other stuffs.

Well, its true that today everyone has been granted the same opportunities, the same everything. So rather than being weak, why not use this very opportunity to come up? I do respect women but I hate this very thing. No woman alone is the part of the women community. This day stands for every woman on Earth. So, why not act against all those problems women are facing, specially in India? A woman understands a woman, they say. So where has there been, yet, women facing the same problems or being a victim of something that they don't deserve to be. So many years passed, every year there was a 'Women's day', nothing good has happened yet. This day isn't celebrated in its true sense I suppose.

Well, ending this post saying nothing more. Its just that women don't need a single day in the year to remind people that they are capable of everything. The other 364 days of the year are the same. A single day makes no sense. They can make use of the other days of the year to do the same things they plan to do on this very day. They aren't weak the other days. Well, ending this post with confused mind. No offence intended.
