Finally, after months of de-blogging I'm back to this text box typing a post. The day in the life where I came back to blogging. The 'Day in life' thing happens with everyone I suppose. Everyone has a day in life when we have our favourite food, when we have our favourite past times, when we have a memorable trip, when we have something to learn for good, a day in life when we have the toughest lesson learnt, when we had the best times of life, when we start something afresh, when we leave our past behind, when we look forward with good hopes and lessons learnt from the past, when we did some good or bad, when we dedicate a day for something/someone etc.
When it comes to dedicating a day in the year we have several such days. Mother's day, Father's day, Valentine's day and not to forget the upcoming one Women's day. I just cant understand one thing. Why do we have these 'days'? Does having these days mean that we are supposed to express our feelings for people, thanking them for all that they have done for us on this very day and keep mum on the remaining days of the year? No, actually..
To write on a specific 'day' I would choose the upcoming one 'Women's day'. They talk about gender equality and we have reservations for women almost in all the sectors. Chivalry at its best I suppose. But why do they require reservations when everything is equally distributed amongst both the genders? I do accept the fact that in India the worst suffering minority are the girls. Mostly in villages. No doubt about it. If this day symbolizes the power of women then why not use it in practicality? If this day belongs to women, in every coming year, why cant they banish all those cruelties and illiteracy and all such other stuffs through which women suffer.
Rather than ranting those lines which say 'A woman can do everything' why not prove it. I do believe there are women who have achieved unparalleled heights and in future there would be many, but why do we stress on the point that women are strong enough to achieve anything? Yes, they are, but why the pride while saying this? They weren't weak but saying all these stuffs gives a feeling that they have been deprived of something. I see no actions and just words. If they are strong enough, why the reservations? I don't have problems with this 'Women's day' thing but all I want to say is here in India a lot of stress is given on providing women with the best facilities and still hardly there is any good use done. There are, yet, people, to be more precise, women,in certain areas deprived of education, their rights and everything. Why not have this Women's day develop a sense of care and concern to all those women who are living in the society without having their rights bestowed upon them, why not take action against all those stuffs that make women a hand-puppet in certain areas in India.
Providing facilities for women don't make them strong. Instead I salute women who never took any support to prove themselves. There are many as such in India. Women don't need a day in the year to remind people of their abilities, all they just need to do is stop ranting about it and start acting. I don't see any point in supporting women in everything they do because they are equally able and strong enough to do stuffs that others do,ain't it? I don't see women lagging behind in anything because they too have been provided the same stuff, same facilities etc. I believe, providing all these reservations and stuff give a sense of weakness, a feeling that women can do nothing unless and until they are provided with these stuffs.
Symbolizing the power of women, yes, that is the message that comes with this day. Come on,you weren't weak anyway to show your 'power' on this very day. They say, she plays a role of a mother, daughter, wife etc. what's the big deal? Even men play the roles of a son, father, husband etc. Give me one good reason to celebrate this day. Well, I don't have any problem with people celebrating this day. Not at all. But I wonder what the hell makes women different from men. I ain't begging for a 'Men's day'. They say women aren't different from men in any respect. Well,if that is so,stop ranting about your 'powers' and such other stuffs.
Well, its true that today everyone has been granted the same opportunities, the same everything. So rather than being weak, why not use this very opportunity to come up? I do respect women but I hate this very thing. No woman alone is the part of the women community. This day stands for every woman on Earth. So, why not act against all those problems women are facing, specially in India? A woman understands a woman, they say. So where has there been, yet, women facing the same problems or being a victim of something that they don't deserve to be. So many years passed, every year there was a 'Women's day', nothing good has happened yet. This day isn't celebrated in its true sense I suppose.
Well, ending this post saying nothing more. Its just that women don't need a single day in the year to remind people that they are capable of everything. The other 364 days of the year are the same. A single day makes no sense. They can make use of the other days of the year to do the same things they plan to do on this very day. They aren't weak the other days. Well, ending this post with confused mind. No offence intended.

Passion Vs. Ambition
Engineering has it all. We never thought of taking engineering so damn seriously when it came to giving Vivas, submitting assignments for which people stay awake the whole night and then again run in the morning for college. My case won't be much similar but when it comes to exams, it does. Months after joining college people realize how much efforts we need to give to just clear the exams. But hardly anyone finds a way out of the trap the reason being KT's being put on students. We say 'tis the season to be jolly but the whole month's being occupied by exams. Hardly we find time to come out of our busy schedules to spend some time with friends.
You take the book in the hand but deep inside your mind there's something you remember you used to do for your past times which was your passion but people tend to give it the name of hobby. But Alas,'Exams',the word that creeps into the minds taking away all those plans you had made. Even I have one but can't pursue till the exams get over and till I clear all those papers. Till we were kids we had many plans which we thought would succeed if we solely put our attention on it. But leaving behind academics won't help,we realize now. India is one country where we can say all the importance has been put on academics. A student goes through all the pressures of studies when his/her mind is capable of doing something other than excelling in academics. Academics has never been pursued in its true sense.
A guy or a girl knows in which field he or she can he excel in life. But now its academics that we thrive upon. Its true that we can't do without education. But mentality is what that sucks. You have a child, grow him up, send him to school and then college, look out for a job expecting a good post in the organisation he or she is working for, get his/her marriage done, bring kids to birth blah blah blah... Everything's fine till the school and college, career stuff but what has been missed?? It was your passion. Some may say cycling, painting, riding bikes, driving cars etc. I have one and that's Drumming. Though I cant call it my passion or hobby coz I don't have drums to play but I can say one thing that I would seriously devote time to it once I get those. Countries abroad can be seen with people approaching various stuff like street dancing, playing baseball, football on streets, riding a dirt bike, being adventurous, Bungee jumping etc. They have all those things that can make their time spend for good. Some of them pursuing it as a career. You have many options open to pursue your passion. But there's one question why are we solely dependent on academics to such an extent that we just keep pressurizing students who are not that good in academics? The reason is simple, some people here are too damn narrow minded. They can't afford to think anything beyond academics. Now there's one thing we all can do. Get yourself the best of education coz nothing can be done without it and then pursue your passion after having raised funds for it through the jobs you get. This is the only way out to live your dreams. Its same as removing corruption from the system. Contest the election, get into the system, rule out corruption.
My dream is to be there in the band drumming all the way to albums and concerts. Simple but true. Though it may sound silly at this point of time. Even I felt a bit silly. But all this started when Nikhil had plugged earphones deep inside my ears way back when we were in junior college. My tastes changed with regards to music. And one day thought of forming a band with him,Anuj and me. It all sounds pleasant at this very point of time when exams are on head and you get time to release some stress. But all this won't be possible until we get the best of academics. We can then raise funds for ourselves, our passions.
Ambition is what we used to think of when we were innocent kids. Now its all dominated by academics. If there's no academics there's no way out. No ambition,no passion. You are handicapped then. Its true. But not completely. All the worldly pressures under which we are forcing ourselves to become an engineer or a doctor, an architect etc. would obviously force us to leave behind our interests. But pursuing it keeping career the main priority would help in planning for approaching our personal interests.
Life is not simply living to eat or eating to live. Its about exploring the unexplored in you. Your passion, interest says it all. I believe we all are dead if we keep mum forcing ourselves to hide the inner soul. Let it out free. You have got more to do than the daily stuffs. Live the moment. Live life. Ending the topic with stress on the head for exams ahead...

A Bad Start With A Memorable End...
The month was dominated by mood swings, things hitting at the back of my mind for reasons which I could never figure out. But then you walk in the reverse gear along the memory lane thinking of those days when you had a jolly time with people whom you had known so well. The time spent with was so memorable. This was exactly what was happening until that night when Nik called up or it was me calling him up,who cares,we talked on phone. He was complaining about those people who he had wished he never met and those tiring,back-breaking Workshop session and loads of other stuffs. I had got so many things to share with him and was not able to do the same coz it was late already. Out of the busy schedules,he made a plan asking me to come for a movie the next day and I agreed.
The next day:
He called me up at 3.50 p.m. when my class was about to disperse, after he got out of the examination hall cursing those paper setters. I asked my other friend named Yash, if wanted to come and he agreed. Told Nik to wait as we were coming. Me and Yash were on his scooty. I always enjoy d back-seat ride. Met Nik on the way and asked him to catch a rik and reach the place. Now starts the scene where I saw him operating his mobile phone constantly. We reached the place waiting for Nik to come. We were about to enter the queue for the tickets and Nik calls up saying he isn't coming when he's still in front of me walking towards us unknowingly. I waved my hands and asked him what's the matter? A sudden decision change ruling out plans for the movie. Shamelessly he said,"I'm going for I-Rock. I got the passes." Now it was when I understood why he was operating his cell phone constantly. This left me frustrated. My other friend didn't coz he had met Nik for the first time. I smiled at my friend and he asked if we can go to any other place where the tickets are priced less. I agreed and we waved Nik bye while we were on scooty.
We reached and both were rushing towards the queue for tickets until another stroke of bad luck hit us. It was already house-full and we would have got tickets for the next screening for which we had to wait for another 2.45 hrs. The evening had so many unexpected and no good surprises for us. That was when Yash came out with a plan asking me for evening snacks at the junk stalls on road. I agreed and he cut his scooty in air as if he was riding a sports bike with me enjoying the back-seat ride.
Stopped at a stall and had junk food. No this isn't the end. I have a great appetite and didn't want to stop having those. I asked if we can go to some other stall for another junk. Yash took his scooty and vrooom..The next stop was where we were having the famous vada pavs from the area's famous kitchen. Gulped and Burped.. Yash saw something delicious on the way and that stuff just coudn't be saved from going into my tummy. It was roadside junk food kind of a manchurian we enjoyed.
All this happened when we were on scooty like foodies hunting for junk. We had a jolly good time having something for our tummies and a scooty ride. The evening was going no where leaving us with a dejected feeling and soon things went the way wanted to. Thanks to Yash and his scooty. In a way I should thank Nik for doing all those things for which I'm cursing him. Hadn't he left us we would have never enjoyed a 'tummy full' evening.
You can well understand how it feels to have good time hanging out with friends taking out time out of your busy schedules and making it more memorable. This would obviously be the one to remember..

Somethings In Life I Don't Understand...
Well, the title must have conveyed the meaning well enough I suppose. Skipping the old tradition of introducing the topic. Let me take you down through the topic. Here are some of those things that's beyond my sense of understanding.
1) To start with, lets take recession as a topic because everyone's being hit with it. They say that all the money's gone. No one holds the moolah. Everyone's losing their job. I don't understand one thing if one man's loss is another man's gain then where the hell did the money go? Obviously it hasn't gone out of the globe. It still is somewhere on the planet. If everyone's poor at the moment then who has all the money? And from where do the producers of some crappy game shows earn big bucks? How come they have such big amounts to give to participants or winners of those game shows?
2) Taxes now. Every employee pays taxes. Sometimes more than what he/she earns. But no regrets. Finally, its for the country's good cause. I say, DO HELL WITH THAT DUMB THOUGHT. No one pays taxes less than a thousand bucks. And India being the second most populated country in the world accumulates taxes worth millions. And that too monthly. With taxes being incurred upon everything consumed. Till date there's only one sea-link that we rant about, few metro trains, people living in hazardous condition and every negative aspect what you can think of. I ask, where did the tax-money go? With no hesitation, I know, your answer would be 'In those corrupt pockets'. If ever that money was to be used up well for the country's cause then India would have been rubbing shoulders with every developed country on the globe. And in every field.
3)Cricket,the sport India believes in. The sport which is a religion. Yeah, even the world's richest cricket body is in India, the BCCI. With every cricketer earning 2 to 3 lakhs per over he bowls and 3 to 4 lakhs for every score. You just hit the ball with the bat and you get rich. Simple as it is. Hey, I don't have any problem with them scoring or earning. They play games, they earn for it. But why every other sport in India is lagging behind? The reason is all of the money being diverted to cricket. Come on,there are other sports too that can give you good entertainment. But the people in India never seem to have heard the names of other ones. If funded properly Indian football and Hockey team would have been competing the world cup.
4)Another thing I don't understand is why people fully depend on municipal corporations for their safety. Every year the problem, the rains. When there's no rain they complain and when there's a downpour they complain. Hell. Tough it is to understand people. Why do they keep complaining for the floods, the damaged roads, the water-logging. All when they know their taxes aren't being put to use in the proper way. They have their own organisations, communitites etc.then why can't they come up with an idea for a clean-up drive,an idea for making their money put into good use. Just why?
5)An actor or a film star gets admitted to a hospital for a minor surgery. And this is the moment where people show how careful they are when it comes to lending a helping hand. They start some poojas to make their voices reach the heaven and gods to save their entertainer. Every kind of mantras and what not. I ask where do the hands disappear when a not-so-famous or an ordinary or an 'AAM' aadmi goes through such a phase? No one gives a damn.
6)Reservations in India. A common sounding stuff. Everything happens the way you want when you fall into a reserved category. You get the best jobs, the best placements, the best of everything just because your ancestors spent their lives cleaning filth. Politicians too, take an advantage. Vote banks. Win their hearts by fake promises and get into the constitution. Make your pocket heavy and do nothing for country. That's what happens. Every guy today has the minimum requirements. You can't judge anyone solely by his/her falling into reserved category. All those help instead can be given to people falling short of such needs. But why the bias? Everyone's the same.
7)The same applies for girls. Reservations for girls everywhere they go. And they talk about gender equality. And they say girls are no lesser than boys. If so, then why do you need reservations? Too much of chivalry, of course.
8)Coming to astrology. Every astrologer says some kind of stuff that makes some panic thinking what would be his day like. And every astrologer says something different. And every sun-sign has a good time ahead they say. Why don't people understand that they have nothing in their hands when it comes to deciding your destiny? Just why? You won't be saved by your sun-sign if you commit a murder,if you rob someone of money,or anything illegal.
9)Why do people go for mobile phones with updated features? I'm not against those who buy cellphones. They have a digital camera and they end up buying a high-resolution one. They have a mp3 player and buy phones loaded with the same stuff. And in some of the extreme cases, people just buy phones because they have money to burn. Just to be in the trend. And the moment a new phone model enters the market, they sell the newly bought one. I don't know why?
10)News channels hold debates with people giving views on various social issues. Shouting to the top their voice to make their views more prominent. So much that audience can't understand what they actually want to convey. I don't understand why they waste an hour on such shows which never come up with a solution to the topic raised. And even if they do, why don't they implement it in practical situations?
On the whole I say, such things can never be understood by anyone unless and until things are made to go the way they are. Ending this post with lots of confusion. Any offence caused is unintended.

I Wish I Had Slept Through The Dream...
The title says it all I guess. No it's not one of those experiences when people say they were wandering in a 'Fairy land' with angels and fairies in their dreams. Wake up. It's so passe'. Let me take you down the whole memory lane. It started like this. It was 11.00 p.m. when all of us in the family were about to doze off. It just didn't happen. Thanks to my sister who switched on the recently switched off T.V. set. No one objected since it was the Travel and Living channel which she switched on to. Showing some of those best places where music was considered to be God. The food(yummm..),Musicians,Instruments etc.were the part of the interesting episode. And there came in the part where guitar enthusiasts were awesomely playing some of their own creations. And at this point, how is my dad supposed to be silently viewing the episode? He started walking down his memory lane where he used to play guitar in his days. Gave me a brief overview as to how he would play the instrument during past times.
Then there came in my wishlist being presented. It was drum sets all over. Not the basic ones but those heavy metal drum sets. Me being the sole explainer in the clan with regards to drumming. I expressed my interest in drumming as drumming had always been a passion. The whole thing went on until finally everyone dozed off. I was facing the ceiling in the sleeping position imagining myself drumming all over. Finally my eyelids enclosed my cornea. And this is where the whole thing started.
The dream's curtain raised like this. I being with my friends in an unusual place chatting and laughing out loud over some of the jokes cracked. And suddenly comes in the call from home asking me where I am. I then bidding goodbye to my friends. I reach home and have my lunch. A sudden call from outside my house makes me go out to check as to what the matter is. All I see is a famous band member from an international band having something in the package for me. He saying that it is a gift from his side for me. Even at this point I'm not surprised by his very visit to my place. The conversation's just between me and that guy. He unpacking it and to my surprise it being the much wished 'DRUM SET'. Not the the basic one but the heavy metal one. Damn,it was so lustrous. It was shining as if it's just come out from the store. More than that I must say. Something which can't be explained.

The drum was one of its kind. Exactly what I wanted. I don't know where that guy went after unpacking it in my dreams. Didn't even thank him for that stuff. He was never to be seen by then. I was left with the feeling 'What-on-Earth-would-be-the-price-of-such-a-heavenly-instrument?'.It was shining more than a piece of gold would. Never to forget features ranged from the lustrous carvings that even a world renowned artist coudn't imagine of and the area it covered. I was already on cloud nine. Every kind of hunger was satisfied I can say. I could then never remember the exact structure of the drum set nor I could find it on net. Then suddenly one day when I was viewing Slipknot's(A metal band)music video,a glimpse of that dream drum set flashed before my eyes. Though it was only the colour and lustre to some extent. The dream drum set somewhat holds resemblence to the drums used in the SLIPKNOT band's Psychosocial video. For readers, here's the video.
I was made to wake up when such a beautiful dream was in process. Thanks to mom. And the worst part of it came in when I was just about to strike the unusual drumstick over the unusual drums to hear the sound. I know the sound created by this very act would have reached the heaven. But alas,as I said I was made to wake up from the heavenly dream. I wasn't upset over this. I convinced myself in those sleepy eyes that the same dream would again be experienced one day. But nothing as such has happened till date. God damn,I still wish I have the same drum set gifted by someone. Or it being bought by me. It was truly a dream drum set. No one in the world,as far as my knowledge goes, ever owned or owns such one-of-a-kind drum set.

It had every feature of it being one of a kind. One of a kind size, one of a kind carving, one of a kind lustre, one of a kind everything. My dad had promised me one then. But the time hasn't come yet. Still waiting for the semi-acoustic guitar that's about to be bought. Everytime, the purchase of it gets delayed due to several reasons. I wonder when will I finally bring one home. It will help serve me as a replacement for drums till they have been bought. I still wish if I had slept through the whole dream. I still wonder how would have the dream come to an end. I still wish...
Love vs. Infatuation
Well, monsoons just started recently and along with it those wonderful memories of those in love. Hey, I don't fall in the 'Lovers' category. As the title suggests, it's all about lust and love and the confusion that clouds the minds. To start with I'll say that infatuation is what we all face when we say it's 'LOVE'. I'm one of those unromantic guys you'll find around. I don't know what it (love) means.I don't believe in this stuff. If ever someone says (from the opposite sex)that she has feelings for me, I would laugh it off. Though it would never happen :p.
The moment we enter the teenage those feelings are aroused. We are created like that. The brain has some chemical reactions going on every now and then. One of those reactions gives arousal to such feelings. Chemistry mumble-jumble. They say (the people) that they are in love. But they fail to distinguish between infatuation and what we call love. Let me explain you in detail. When we see a person from the opposite sex we feel something (it doesn't happen with every person). That is infatuation at the first place. They give it the name of love. It's just physical attraction sometimes. They start distracting themselves away from their duties and other responsibility. And that's where devastation starts. Being involved and committed in a relationship leaves no time for your daily chores or what you may call duties.
This really happens with students who just enter the so-hyped college-life. They have just entered college and there starts their hunt for the perfect match. Some want to live their life and they love being in the trend and hence find this stuff as living life. Stupid it is on their parts. It isn't a game. Because when you are playing with someone else's feelings it can prove to be really hazardous.

Couple of my friends also had fallen into this ditch. Unknowingly,of course. They took those things a bit err, too seriously. And when things really started changing the other way round they realized it wasn't the right time to get into a relationship. That's when they realized that everything has its own time. I believe, when you are in a relationship you don't need to strive for it to keep it going. It just happens the way it should be. You don't even have to search for the right match. One of my friends started writing some attention-seeking stuffs on a social-networking site just to show he was in a relationship. Though he wasn't serious about it. Now that's what I hate to the core.
Well, one of my intelligent friend had just been carried away by those feelings just because he was smitten by a girl younger to him. I counselled him to avoid such stuff because it wasn't the right time for that girl to start a relationship and made him aware of those bitter facts that the girl and he himself would face if the relationship fails. She had so much left to see all her life and for such things, it was too damn early. Got himself counselled the right way. Now you know why I referred him to as 'intelligent'.

Such examples must have obviously understood by people reading this. My point on the whole case is that one thing happens at a particular point of time. Things won't rush at a time, even if you want to. For people of my age,I advice them to stay out of this as long as you are done with the four years of engineering. And when you are finished with all your career related stuffs and all,the other pieces of the jigsaw place themselves automatically. You have nothing in your hands when it comes to changing your relationship status from 'being single' to 'being committed'. Like I said earlier, it just happens.
I don't have any oppositions for people who are in a relationship. Some work out (hardly). And majority of them are dominated by break-ups. Reason being misunderstanding, no enough time to devote etc. Yeah, that's what we don't analyse in the beginning of a relationship.
I hope this article helps change views on stuff like this for good. Offence unintended.

Bands And Music in India...
Well, I know most of you people out there must have supposed that I'm on an essay writing spree. But that isn't the case. But blogs are meant for posting your views and other such stuff I suppose. So I'm writing something in relation to the title. The only problem is I just couldn't find any good title, that's it. Back to title and its description, I say music in India has undergone some, err, much of a change. There were times when people used to rush to theatres for some quality music and quality films. Mostly, as far as my knowledge goes in music, were composed by legends such as Kishor Kumar and some other ones. I hardly know any other names of people or legends who actively participated in composing some evergreen music. Evergreen, because people, even today like to hum some of those music on various ocassions. It was way back in those years when such music compositions worked. Today, music has been replaced by raunchy videos and some others in films with all having the same old story-line.
With music undergoing a significant change, tastes of people with regards to music too, have changed. There were times when people used to collect albums and some filmy music back in the 90's. But today,Bands have come to the forefront. A trend which was already developed in western countries. People there used to follow music created by bands hugely. To name a few I would say 'BEATLES', 'ROLLING STONES' etc. And there were solo albums released by music greats such as 'ELVIS PRESLEY'. And to name some others,I would say the guy whom the generation knew very well. The name's 'MICHAEL JACKSON'. Proclaimed by people, 'THE KING OF POP'. Such was his aura and charm that brought people closer to his music. And not to forget the controversies that clouded him. But fame brings along with it the disadvantages too.
India too, started turning to some english numbers and trends. Bizzare it seemed to the then people. Some thought it was for a complete show-off. But today actually, number of people going for Bollywood music in India have reduced. But some of them actually are wannabes. You can surely say that when people just pose themselves as ardent music lovers that too selected ones or only English numbers just to convince themselves that they are being in the trend. Narrow-mindedness I must say. Such people hardly understand anything about music that too,the English ones. Some of them show-off saying they hate Bollywood music to the core. Come on, I don't think they are that worse. Even I say I hate Bollywood music but not all of them. Some are really good. Same is the case with me when it comes to English ones. I don't really like all of them neither do I hate everyone of them.

There are people who just put on T-shirts of some bands for namesake. You can easily distinguish between posers and some serious music lovers. Bands in India haven't developed to a great extent I must say but people opting for music as their careers have notably changed. Some start their training at an early age. Either they start learning some musical instruments or start to shape their vocal chords. I really appreciate them. But today, number of people dreaming of forming their own bands are on the run. A best proof of it I say is the reality shows. Some music channels taking auditions of bands, embedded with drama and stuff. The only reality show that I considered true. I didn't expect those shows to run this good. The response has been good.

But a major drawback was bands who came for auditions were almost performing the same type of music. The ones performing metal were growling all the way to auditions. Just howling and growling it was. They missed to notice the real factor that gave metal music its name. They only succeeded in noticing electric guitars and vocalists growling and howling. Same was the case with some other bands performing other type of music say punk and rock. But there were bands who actually performed well. But on the whole I noticed passion for music. Though all of them have a long way to go in the music field and perfecting the skills of co-ordination in a band.
Even I have a passion for drumming and being a member of a band. But firstly, I need to sharpen those skills. Music has been there for ages. From the generation that belonged to Kings till the world ends. Bands today have largely gained popularity. You all must be knowing some of them like 'LINKIN PARK', 'SIMPLE PLAN'(My Favourite), 'BILLY TALENT' and many more. Metal ones such as 'SLIPKNOT', 'LAMB OF GOD', 'CHILDREN OF BODOM' etc. These bands have largely been on the forefront probably due to their typical music composition. People tend to love it.

In India, these bands have profited the most. So you can say the music tastes have changed remarkably. Bands in India are still not in the condition of rubbing shoulders with International ones. I hope mine does someday..:)
